Born of the Waihopai Valley, The Ned represents the vibrant diversity that is so prevalent in the Marlborough wine-growing region.
Leefield Station is a range of wines that celebrate the history of the iconic sheep and beef station located in the heart of the Waihopai Valley.
Among the twisted vines of owner Brent Marris' ancestry was William de Marisco, said to be one of the illegitimate sons of King Henry the First.
A vintner's relationship to the vineyard is much like a good marriage. You become more familiar with the eccentricities, subtleties and expressions of character over time; each little discovery is infinitely rewarding.
Diamond Heart epitomises sparkling beauty and is a tribute to Rosemary Marris, co-owner of Marisco Vineyards, wife of Brent Marris and mother to their four daughters. She is the vibrant heart of their family but also very much the esteemed matriarch of ours. Much like a diamond, often adding a touch of panache and glamour, she helps us drive the company forward, always with a sparkle and a smile.

The 2019 Leefield Station Pinot Noir delivers aromas of wild blackberries and plum with a hint of tobacco and smoky oak spice. The palate is rich and mouth filling with an ensuing acidity thatmarrieswellwithsoftripetanninsandadark mocha finish.

A true reflection of the 2019 vintage - small, concentrated berries have created a wine of deep violet colour with perfectly ripe fruit. Vibrant primary characters of Damson plum and cassis are restrained by delicate savoury notes. Bright acidity accentuates the fine-grained, supple tannins. This wine is approachable in its youth but will continue to develop varietal complexity as it ages.
